INSTRUCTIONS & TASKS
Task 2: Composition
For this task we were asked to place our Vormator character (or a new
character) into a Pokemon card composition, incorporating foreground,
midground, and background elements.
Inspirations and sketches 1:
For this task I wanted to keep my Vormator character which is a Tiki. I
decided for the background to put a temple and the Tiki as the guardian. Here
are some picture that inpired me for my first sketches.

Inspirations and sketches 2:
After Mr. Hafiz feedback on improving the composition by referring to the
Framed ink book, I went through the book and decided to take this point of
view as a reference for my environment. With this reference I think I will
be able to add depth and focus to the environment, aligning it more
closely with the visual storytelling goals of my character.

I then started to gather references, to capture the mood I envisioned: a
dense, dark jungle.

With the new direction in mind, I created an updated sketch, adding an
additional tiki to create a balanced, symmetrical composition.

Digitalization process:
To start, I focused on designing each element I wanted to incorporate
into the composition. I began with the leaves, using a reference image
to guide their shape and detail. I used the pen tool and the curvature tool to create the leaves.

I decided to add a gradient to the leaves to give them more dimension and
a natural look.

To enhance the temple's identity as a Tiki Temple, I decided to add more
details. While browsing Pinterest, I found a design element that I
thought would work well next to the door of the temple, making it feel more
authentic and connected to the Tikis guarding it.

After having all the element I needed I then started to place every element.

For the composition, I applied the rule of thirds to create a symmetrical
design, ensuring a balanced and harmonious image.
REFLECTION
I think the most challenging aspect of this task was to find what would
effectively serve as the environment for the characters and how to convey
a compelling story through one image. It took me some time and thought to
decide on the direction I wanted to take.
